Yulia Migunova was born in Nizhny Novgorod. She graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory in 2009 (class of cello of Vishniewsky P. D.).
As a member of Cantando string quartet she became a winner of numerous international competitions in Russia, Germany, France, Greece, Serbia. In 2011 the quartet won the I All-Russian Music Competition in Moscow.
Since 2011 Yulia (both as soloist and as a member of different ensembles) becomes an active participant of contemporary music festivals such as SPOR (Denmark), Karussell (Germany), Casa del quartetto (Italy), NeoArte (Poland), reMusik.org, “Other space”, "Biomechanic", “Moscow forum”, “Moscow autumn”, “GAM-festival” (all – Russia) and many others. She actively collaborates with soloists and composers from different countries, she performed numerous Russian and world premieres.
Since 2016 she is a cellist of Gallery of Actual Music (GAM) ensemble, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble and Vacuum string quartet.

• Since 2022 Yulia works in Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in a Centre of Electroacoustic Music and is a cellist of CEAM Artists.
